Interested in being part of the Marin County Fair? We’re looking for dedicated team members and volunteers to help us put on one of the Bay Area’s most beloved summer events with over 80,000 attendees annually. It really does “take a village” to put on such a successful Fair each year!

PRoduction

Position Type: Seasonal / Fair

Position Summary
This contingent (temporary) position performs a variety of physical labor tasks necessary to accommodate events scheduled both indoors and outdoors at Marin Center during the Marin County Fair. Tasks including setting up and arranging equipment, waste management,  cleaning facilities, ect. Additional duty can be found on on the application. Come work for us if you are a team player and have knowledge of methods and materials used in building cleaning operations.

Requirements:
Work schedules include weekends and evenings at Marin Center facilities.

  • Must be able to stand and walk for six (6) hour shifts.

Admissions

Description: 

Manages admission gates team and guest support services. Supervisory experience that demonstrates the ability to manage a team is required. The Lead will work at the three public entrances, will oversee the Guest/Ticket Ambassadors, communicate with Security Staff at bag check and help troubleshoot ticketing issues. The Lead will be responsible for managing, training, and supporting gate staff; managing staff breaks; and ensuring accurate time sheets. Ideal candidates are technically savvy, have excellent customer service skills and can effectively communicate with Marin Center Staff, Security Staff, and the public to provide assistance and information.

Requirements:
Work schedules include weekends and evenings at Marin Center facilities.

  • Must be available to work all 5 days of the County Fair July 1st – 5th, 2026.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for six (6) hour shifts.

Description: 

There are multiple temporary contingent positions for the 2026 Marin County Fair. Guest/Ticket Ambassadors work in one of four areas: Ticketing & Box Office, Exhibit Monitors, Fair Office and Concerts.  In the application, you will be able select the areas that interest you.

Main Stage

Description: 
The Department of Cultural Services is looking for Event Staff / Main Stage Island Pavilion Concerts to work on the upcoming Marin County Fair, July 1st-5th, 2026.

About You:

Bring your energy to the main stage! As an Event Staff team member at the Island Pavilion, you’ll be the face of our nightly headliner concerts, ensuring our guests have an unforgettable and safe experience.

In this role, you will greet and guide guests to General Admission, ADA seating, concessions, and restrooms while keeping a watchful eye on entrances, exits, and crowd safety. Because you’ll be right in the middle of the actioncandidates must be comfortable working in a loud, high-volume, live event environment. An additional 5% bilingual pay is available for staff fluent in Spanish.

Ideal Candidates Have:

  • A background in event operations.
  • Strong communication skills (bilingual Spanish/English is a huge plus!).
  • A proactive approach to guest safety and satisfaction.


QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE OF

  • Techniques for dealing with the public, individually and in groups. 
  • Standard theater practices and procedures, including patron seating assignment and the operation of standard equipment.


ABILITY TO

  • Deal tactfully and effectively with visitors. 
  • Use current technology such as handheld computing devices and/or Point of Sale systems.
  • Interpret, apply and explain regulations, rules, policies and procedures. 
  • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Maintain attention to detail and remaining calm while handling multiple activities or queries. 
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.


The Minimum Qualifications are:

 Previous work experience is not required.  Some experience as an Usher and/or in a related field at public events or in other customer service settings is highly desirable.  

Bilingual skills in Spanish are highly desirable.
